Kapawe’no First Nation – Tanisi hope your summer is going well. We would like to welcome Fred Mack as our new music and outdoor education teacher at Kapaweno First Nation School.
He is passionate about land based teaching, music, and trying new ways to combine these together. We have just ordered brand new, high quality wind, brass and percussion instruments, and looking forward to combining traditional drumming and Nêhiyawak music practices with modern instruments.
He has many learning and performance opportunities planned for the students, including playing hockey and sports games, and festivals. He is also planning on bringing in special musical guests throughout the year for our band class.
He is will be running a bandcamp as an introduction to music/band, and cannot wait to help spark the musical potential in our students!
