Kapawe’no First Nation – Mrs. Lori Willier, a devoted mother of three and a proud member of Kapawe’no First Nation, has dedicated her life to nurturing the growth and potential of young minds. With a heart brimming with passion and a deep-rooted connection as Nêhiyawak, she embarked on a remarkable journey in the realm of early childhood education.

Lori’s journey in education began with her involvement in the K4 Aboriginal Head Start program back in 2003. It was here that she discovered her unwavering love for working with children. Her genuine affection for kids ignited a lifelong passion that would shape her career.

Fast forward to 2023, and Lori boasts an impressive 20 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. For 16 of those years, she has been actively engaged in instructing and teaching within the program. Her chosen age group, the young and inquisitive, fills her days with excitement and fulfillment.

One of Lori’s greatest joys lies in the discovery of new things alongside her students. As she introduces four-year-olds to the wonders of kindergarten, she takes great pride in preparing them for the exciting journey of learning that lies ahead. Literacy and numeracy are areas that particularly excite her. Guiding her students through the exploration of letters, numbers, colors, and shapes of the week is a source of immense satisfaction.

Lori firmly believes that making school and learning fun is key to sparking a lifelong love for education in these young minds. She continually seeks new and creative ways to engage her students, introducing them to the joy of learning while nurturing their natural curiosity.

In essence, Mrs. Lori Willier stands as a dedicated and compassionate advocate for early childhood education. Her commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and exciting learning environment for the children she serves is nothing short of admirable. With every day that passes, she continues to make a profound impact on the lives of her students, instilling in them a lifelong love for learning.

“Working with children isn’t just a career for me; it’s my lifelong passion. Every day is an opportunity to ignite their curiosity and love for learning, and that’s what keeps me inspired.” – Mrs Lori Willier.
