Kapawe’no First Nation – In the spirit of unity and safety, Kapawe’no Nêhiyawak School and Buffalo Bay Academy came together on Thursday, Oct 12, 2023, to conduct their first fire drill of the school year. This event was not just about following protocol; it was a collective expression of wisdom and reverence for the safety of all.The students embraced this drill with a sense of purpose. They understood that safeguarding their peers and teachers was a task of safety first.
This showcased impressive organization and professionalism, involving students, staff, teachers, and dedicated firefighters. This commitment to preparedness ensures that the school community is well-prepared for any emergency situation that may arise throughout the year.
The involvement of the Grouard fire department added an extra layer of authenticity to the exercise. The professional firefighters worked hand-in-hand with the school community, demonstrating their expertise while fostering a sense of trust and collaboration.
